An Interior Design to Engage and Satisfy Your Reader
The Interior Design Process
Your book is written, your cover is complete. Now it’s time to format the most important part—your words and ideas.
Step One
First we start off with a phone or Zoom call so I can get to you know you and your manuscript. And, you can get to know me too! This call takes about 15-30 minutes and is scheduled at your convenience.
Step Two
I create three interior design options using one to two chapters of your manuscript. In the options I will create three different treatments for the typefaces, header, footer, subhead and other design considerations.
Step Three
We schedule a Zoom call to go over the designs. You will decide typefaces, headers, footers and other elements you were presented in the interior design options. This is many times an interactive process where you can see options on in real time.
Step Four
I complete the interior layout and present it to you for final proofing. At this step you are making small changes to the content, if any, and proofing for any design/layout mistakes.
Step Five
I make the changes you submitted to me and provide you with a final, print-ready interior file.

Interior Formatting/Design FAQ
Who owns the rights to the interior layout?
The author owns all rights to the final interior layout/design. Any individual elements provided by me, such as photos, graphics, etc. are owned by the author and if requested, can be provided as individual image files.
How many revisions does the design price include?
The book interior is finished when the author is satisfied. That being said, if a concept is agreed upon and presented and then the author changes the direction, an additional fee will apply. Also, the manuscript should have been proof-edited prior to layout. If after layout is complete and this is an exceptional amount of textual changes, additional fees will apply.
What are your payment terms?
Half of the design fee is due when the agreement is signed and the balance is due when the design is complete, or 90 days past the date of the initial agreement, whichever comes first.
